Forever Chemicals in our Food and Water?

Generations of farmers treated and fertilized their fields in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. Over and over regulators were wrong. Dangerous substances have contaminated farmland soil, groundwater, aquifers, and now the farmers themselves. American Farmland Trust (AFT) continues its campaign to support our farms and ranches with a petition to, “Protect our farmers and Food from Forever Chemicals.”

AFT is pressing lawmakers to take action with relief and support funding, set limits on per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in biosolids, provide protection for farmers from liability associated with forever chemicals when legal farming practices are followed, and create a federal PFAS plan linking multiple agencies.
